We aim to help children to develop:

The ability to listen attentively and respond in a positive manner.

The ability to express themselves clearly and precisely with the vocabulary appropriate to the situation.

The ability to read fluently and with understanding; children will be encouraged to appreciate literature in all its forms.

The ability to write clear, concise English, suitable for a variety of styles and appropriate to different situations.

A legible style of handwriting and satisfactory standards of spelling, syntax, punctuation and usage.

The necessary skills to develop information retrieval strategies for the purpose of study.
