Homework
Homework
Homework tasks themselves vary tremendously as children move through the school, but they will always be appropriate for individuals and linked to the curriculum. Children in Key Stage 2 are usually asked to complete literacy and numeracy tasks each week in addition to their reading.
Children from at least Year 1 upwards will have spellings to learn at home on a regular basis, usually weekly.
To extend the excitement of learning, children of any age may be asked to find out about a particular topic, or find an artefact.
All children are expected to read at home regularly with an adult and record their reading in their reading record.
Homework is not intended to overwhelm children at any time. We follow the Government guidance on recommended amounts of homework. If at any time parents feel the homework set is taking too long to complete or their child is struggling (or indeed, not challenged), they should contact the class teacher immediately and the matter can be speedily resolved.
Home-School Agreement
This agreement attempts to forge a sound partnership between home and school. The statements within it encapsulate the ethos of the school. It is expected that all pupils, parents and staff will sign and actively support all aspects of the agreement.
