Information, Communication Technology offers children the opportunity to:

Develop their ICT capability.

Develop their skills in using hardware and software to manipulate information in their processes of problem solving and recording.

Work independently and with others.

Acquire and refine ICT skills such as saving, copying, using the Internet, exchanging and presenting

information.

Develop an understanding of ICT and its contribution to our society.

Develop hand and eye co-ordination through the use of a mouse.

Know how to use the computer safely.

Evaluate their own work and other uses of ICT.

Use ICT as a cross-curricular learning tool.

There are some exciting new developments happening in ICT and Key Stage 2 pupils are currently learning about e-safety and using the internet safely this Spring and Summer terms 2009.  Please see our 'Links' tab to look at e-safety websites that can help both parents and pupils develop their knowledge and awareness of how to use the internet safely.
