Religious Education
Religious Education is undenominational in character and is taught in accordance with an agreed 'County' syllabus. The school day normally includes an act of collective worship. There are informal links with the local church. Questions about the syllabus and the option of withdrawal may be discussed with the Headteacher. The Christian religion is studied in detail and there are units of work based upon understanding other major World religions.
We hope to enable children to:
Grow in awareness of themselves and to develop a positive attitude to their own emotions, life and learning.
Grow in awareness of others and to develop relationships in a secure and tolerant setting.
Develop their interest in and their ability to reflect upon the World around them.
Clarify and enlarge their ideas about religion.
Understand some features of human groups and communities.
Extend their awareness that people commit themselves to beliefs and causes.
