Starting School
All children who will be entering Reception in September are invited to spend one afternoon a week in school during the previous half term, when they become used to the school environment and staff and take part in enjoyable practical activities. During this time an evening meeting is also arranged for parents, which gives an opportunity to find out more about the school, including early teaching methods used. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet other parents, see the sorts of resources the children will be using, purchase school uniform and find out the answer to any questions.
Children transferring to us from Pebworth Pre-School visit school regularly from a very young age and join us for Christmas performances and many other events. The Pre-School Sports Day is always held at school and occasionally joint educational visits are undertaken.
Older children will be accepted in school providing the standard admission number for the particular year group (12) will not be exceeded. Parents of children who may transfer to Pebworth should contact the Headteacher at the earliest opportunity.
We try very hard to ensure older children have a smooth transfer, and these children are strongly encouraged to make visits and spend some time in school before they are admitted. We liaise very closely with other schools so that any disruption to the child is kept to a minimum.
